Replacement of the existing fire sprinkler system in Area âA” with an ESFR type system and
the modification of the existing roof level system in Area âB” to meet the new installation
criteria. Hydraulic calculations, supply and installation of the new fire sprinkler system,
modifications to the existing system(s) shall meet the requirements of NFPA 13, the Utah
State Codes, the local Building and Fire Departments and the Owner’s Insurance Company. The
building shall remain in operation during the construction and care shall be taken to protect
the contents of the building and to coordinate the work with the normal activities of the Owner
during the construction period.
The system modifications specified here have been reviewed and tentatively approved by the
Utah State Fire Marshal’s Office. These approvals include a rough layout and hydraulic
calculations of the systems. Completed Shop Drawings and Hydraulic Calculations, including
the coordination of the systems piping with the building structure, mechanical systems, and
electrical systems are still required. The hydraulic calculations utilized for the preliminary Fire
Marshal approval are attached for reference.
