Removal and replacement of a 145 ton water cooled chiller at the Neil Combee Administration mechanical building. Polk County Board of County Commissioners is requesting proposals on the removal and replacement of a 145-ton water cooled chiller at the Neil Combee Administration mechanical building located at 330 West Church Street, Bartow, Florida 33830. Our current 145-ton centrifugal water cooled chiller is original to the building and is now 22 years old. The replacement centrifugal chiller will be upgraded to a 175-ton water cooled unit. The new chiller
controls must be able to interface with the Trane Tracer Summit System.
Lock-out/tag-out hazardous energy sources
Remove refrigerant per EPA guidelines
Remove compressor oil from sump and dispose of per EPA guidelines
Disconnect power and control wiring from existing chiller
Drain water from condenser and evaporator and disconnect existing piping
Remove and dispose of existing chiller in accordance to Federal guidelines
Verify existing condenser and chilled water pumps/piping will supply proper water flow
through upgraded chiller and building
Modify housekeeping pad as required to accept new chiller
Set new chiller into place
Connect new chiller to existing chilled and condenser water piping
Provide drain valves and air vents on condenser and evaporator heads
Verify power supply for chiller and upgrade as required to meet chiller requirements
Connect power wiring and controls wiring to new chiller
Verify existing relief valve piping size, termination point, and construction. Upgrade as
required to meet code requirements.
Connect vessel relief valves to vent piping
Repair chilled water piping insulation to match existing insulation
Refill condenser and evaporator vessels
Open isolation valves and set chilled and condenser water flow rates
Provide factory start-up on new chiller
Log chiller operation
Provide two copies of operating manuals and mechanical prints (in hard copy and CD
Provide a minimum of 4-hours training for the chiller operation
Install tap connections with valves on the chilled water piping side for future emergency
