MANVILLE PARK WATER LINE UPGRADE installation of a new
two inch (2â) water line and all the components necessary to complete the proposed water line upgrade at
Manville Park in Manville, RI.
he Town of Lincoln is requesting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the installation of a
new 2â waterline and all the components necessary to complete the proposed water line upgrade
at Manville Park in Manville. The work encompassed by this contract shall include, but is not
limited to the following:
The Lincoln Water Commission will install a tapping sleeve and valve at the existing 16â
diameter waterline and run a new 2â line to the field-side of existing fence.
The contractor who is awarded the proposed work will need to coordinate with, and follow
all the specifications of the Lincoln Water Commission as well as the Town of Lincoln
Public Works Division.
Contractor will continue installing 2â line from end of the LWC line to the location near the
existing double gates. Exact locations must be approved by the Public Works Department.
Contractor will construct a concrete pad where the assembly will be housed by the approved
enclosure. The dimensions of the pad will be taken from the attached specifications packet.
All of the components must be of same brand as outlined in the specifications section of this
Contractor to furnish and install the approved components as shown in the schematic and
then connect to the existing water meter pit.
Contractor shall furnish and install a stainless steel Coast GuardShack enclosure on the
constructed concrete pad. The Town of Lincoln prefers to use model number CGS-4.5 for the
enclosure, as long as all of the approved installed components can fit securely. Otherwise, the
contractor must submit the model number of the Coast GuardShack enclosure they intend to
supply and install with their bid proposal. The concrete pad dimensions will vary with the
different models. Provided in the specifications packet are the dimensions for the pad in
relation to the different model numbers.
The existing water meter must be returned by the contractor to the Public Works Department.
Contractor shall install the required lengths of 2â pipe to the approved locations where the
quick-disconnects will be. The quick-disconnects (2) will be supplied by the Town of
