UU South Biology Bldg Screen Panels
Project is located on the roof of the South Biology Building (Bldg #84) at the University of Utah. Around the perimeter of the flat rectangular roof are attached double âT’ heavy concrete fascia panels. Originally there were 200 of these panels. In 2004, previous work has been done where 72 concrete panels have been removed and were replaced with fiberglass panels. What is left to be done is the removal of the 128 remaining concrete panels and replacing them with fiberglass panels that match the existing fiberglass panels color and dimensions. By the time this project is underway the Fall semester will be in full sway. To minimize parking issues and to maximize pedestrian safety, it is suggested to use a crane at specified times. If a crane is needed on a weekday, then the crane must be scheduled between the hours of 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Any contractor and subcontractor working on this project must make safety a priority and must meet the code required for the safety and protection of all pedestrians per IBC 2009 Chapter 33 Section 3306.
