Constructing a 240-foot- long, two-span prestressed concrete girder bridge over Howell Avenue, ro- adway approaches to the bridge ret- ained within mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) retaining walls, approxi-mately 1,100 feet of MSE retaining walls for the east approach to the bri- dge, approximately 750 feet of MSE retaining wall for the west approach to the bridge, connections into the exist- ing perimeter road west of Howell Avenue, connection into Citation Way east of Howell Avenue, reconstruction of a portion of Citation Way to accom-modate the perimeter road, reconst- ruction of a portion of Howell Avenue to accommodate the new intersection with Citation Way, utility relocations and coor-dination, coordination with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and exca-vation within the exis- ting Mitchell Field Drainage Ditch. The perimeter road has a clear width of 42 feet over the bridge and within the retaining walls. The total length of the project is approximately 2,000 feet as measured along the perimeter ro- ad. Also included with the project is construction of new security fencing and a controlled gate. The project al- so includes construction staging and traffic control to maintain traffic on Howell Avenue and Citation Way dur- ing construction of the perimeter road and structures. The work under this contract also includes repairs to the existing run- way tunnel structure on Howell Ave- nue.
